Goryokaku (Star-Fort) is the battlefield of the last samurais at the end of the Edo Period Famous samurai "Hijikata Toshizo" well known in the animation "Golden Kamuy" lived and fought in this fortress. You can find western fortresses in other countries, but the western fortress with Japanese castle construction technology is the only Goryokaku in the world

Onuma Quasi-national Park is the biggest and most beautiful lake in southern Hokkaido In Hokkaido, lake Toya is more famous than Lake Onuma, but local people love the lake and Mt. Komagatake at the back of the lake. Around the lake, you can taste famous sweets "Onuma Dango" and the famous farm made icecream at Yamakawa Farm
