Explore Hidden Japan Cycling the Timeless Port of Onomichi
Onomichi Brompton Tour: Cycling Through a Timeless "Miniature Garden" City Discover the old town of Onomichi, where steep slopes and narrow alleys overlap to create a landscape often described as a "miniature garden." On this tour, we’ll explore the town’s origins and the daily lives of its people while riding the Brompton—the ultimate British-made folding bike, perfect for navigating Onomichi's unique terrain. Our journey takes us through a diverse tapestry of scenes: a nostalgic entertainment district brimming with Shōwa-era charm, an ocean street where you can feel the sea breeze, and ultra-retro shops hidden at the end of impossibly narrow backstreets. We’ll also venture into the hillside areas, a true favorite for Onomichi insiders. Experience the "history" and "atmosphere" of this 850-year-old port town at a perfect pace—faster than walking, yet more leisurely than a standard bike ride. It’s the ideal speed to truly immerse yourself in the local rhythm.
