Hakodate Morning Market is the city’s most famous food market and a symbol of its port-town heritage. Just steps from Hakodate Station, the market is filled with stalls offering fresh squid, crab, scallops, and seasonal produce from Hokkaido’s rich land and seas. Visitors can enjoy browsing local specialties, sampling snacks, or sitting down to savor a kaisendon—seafood bowls piled high with delicacies straight from the morning’s catch.
