Originally
built by film-maker Dino de Laurentis for the film Hurricane, the
Sofitel is located on Point Matira and commands an expansive stretch of
beach. Featuring a total of 64-bungalows and an extremely welcoming
Polynesian atmosphere, this resort is a popular choice for those not
looking for the “ultra-luxury” of some of Bora Bora's other resorts. On
the island's most pristine beaches, at the base of lush rolling hills,
the Sofitel Marara Coralia waits to provide for your every need.
From the traditional Polynesian Flower
Ceremony upon arrival to the fresh water swimming pool, the Marara
ensures you the complete Bora Bora experience.
The resort offers variety of unique
experiences, with 64 bungalows, half of which are found in an exotic
coconut grove, bursting with tropical flowers, another 11 resting along
the sandy beaches, and 21 "over-water" bungalows with decks that reach
out into the lapping waters of the lagoon. These world renowned
"over-water" bungalows, crafted from wood and woven pandanus, provide
all imaginable comforts, while keeping in harmony with the island's
natural beauty. Maximum three persons in all Bungalows.

La
Perouse Restaurant takes full advantage of the island's bountiful fare.
Diners look out over the peaceful lagoon and listen to the native sounds
of drums and ukulele, while the staff of La Perouse prepare a surprising
array of French, international and local Polynesian dishes.
Bora Bora offers you an amazing wealth of
activities, and the Sofitel Marara Coralia is the ideal place to begin
your daily adventures. Start with tennis and swimming on the Marara
grounds, then explore this tropical paradise on bicycle. Snorkel beneath
the still waters of the lagoon and watch the teeming marine life at
play.
