The focus at FDR Pebbles is soft
adventure, where the emphasis is on learning as well as fun. You will
learn about the history of the island first hand and experience the
ecology of coral reefs and its surroundings. Including the "eighth
wonder of the World" the luminous lagoon.
While staying at FDR Pebbles, your
children will learn where bananas come from, and why the Caribbean Sea
glistens and dances in the richest blues ever imagined.
FDR Pebbles' Small World kids club opens
from 7:00 A.M. daily and is just busting with the latest in state of the
art educational and computer games in addition to untold hours of well
just great supervised fun. Then there's a computer learning center for
the serious computer buffs.
We know Tom Sawyer would approve of FDR
Pebbles' Teen's Programs. The Resort has set aside it's own supervised
tropical "campsite" for outdoor camping under so many stars, your teens
won't believe they're real. They'll be taken on beach parties, hiking,
cycling trips on all terrain bicycles, field trips up the Martha Brae
River and learn about the flora and the fauna that are indigenous to the
island. They will even learn how to sail a sunfish or windsurf. Children
of all ages will be taken to heritage sites and even a town that got its
running water before New York City did. And then they'll come back with
stories about how fascinating Jamaica is.
FDR
Pebbles has not forgotten about parents in developing its vision for
family vacations. So while your children are learning about Jamaica's
ecological life, you can relax in hammocks dotted around the property,
play tennis, basketball or enjoy a game of competitive beach volleyball.
Enjoy the poolside or the fitness room which offers the latest in
equipment and instruction. FDR Pebbles will take you on a tour of a
working sugar plantation and historical and ecological trips in the
parish of Trelawny. At nights join in the fun at the Piano Bar and sing
along with your newly-found friends. Charges for babysitting services
are anything but steep and well worth it if you want to stay out late.
The cuisine is exceptional. The dining
area is on an open terrace with stunning views offering all day buffet
dining. There is also a Jamaican restaurant which features specialties
like Jamaican jerk pork, Jerk chicken and beef patties.
Located on the oceanfront, these cedar
wood junior suites with elaborate fretwork are decorated in tropical
colors to achieve a Jamaican style ambiance and are nestled among the
trees. Most will have ocean views.
